CBD vs CBDa?

CBDa (Cannabidiolic Acid) is the raw, non-intoxicating “parent” to CBD. CBDa is made by hemp plants as they mature and is the primary cannabinoid in most raw hemp flower. Since there is no heating involved during our CBDa manufacturing process, our solutions contain naturally occurring terpenes which contribute to an enhanced entourage effect.

Preclinical trials have shown CBDa has strong inhibitory effects on enzymes that are responsible for inflammation (COX-2), and stimulatory effects on a key mood regulating center in the brain (5HT-1a).

CBD (Cannabidiol) is the neutral “child” of CBDa. When we heat the raw hemp flower to just the right temperature, for just the right amount of time, we are able to convert the acidic CBDa into the neutral CBD.

In preclinical trials, CBD has demonstrated far reaching effects on the endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS).

The ECS is in charge of balancing and maintaining the body’s homeostasis through systems that regulate sleep cycles, appetite, memory, pain sensation, inflammation, immune function and much more.
