Make Sure Your CBD is Lab Tested

At least in the US, lab tests by independent, third-party labs are not currently required. So, as you can imagine there are a ton of companies marketing CBD that is not worth buying.

As one of the highest-grade producers of CBD, we wish that third-party lab tests of CBD were required. Consumers are so confused as to what they should be looking for in CBD products and CBD companies can make broad claims without any substantiation.

So if testing is not required, why do we spend thousands of dollars on lab tests? We test regularly at the flower and tincture level to ensure that:

  • No pesticides are present
  • No mold is present
  • Cannabinoid and terpene levels are high

The lab we use utilizes high-performance liquid chromatography which is a process that separates, identifies, and quantifies each component in the oil.

What to look for in Lab Results
Aside from ensuring that high levels of CBD (or CBDa) are present, you want to look for other cannabinoids. If there is no THC, CBC, and/or CBG the oil being tested is NOT full spectrum. The more “other” cannabinoids shown, the better.
